Outdoor Theatre – A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Friday 28th August
On Friday 28th August 2015 in Shaftesbury Park, Carrickfergus. Gates open 6.30pm, show starts 7.30pm. Set on that most dangerous of nights when fairies are abroad and nothing is as it seems four young, unsuspecting, lovers become entangled in their magical affray and soon no mortals are safe in those bewitched and bewitching woods outside Athens…. Admission is FREE but entry is strictly on a first come, first-served basis, so arrive early to avoid disappointment. Teddy Bears Picnic, Carrickfergus – Monday 31st August
If you go down to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise… the annual and always very popular Teddy Bears’ Picnic returns to Marine Gardens on Monday 31st August 2015 from 12 to 4pm. The event features an abundance of teddy bear- themed entertainment for all of the family! Particularly aimed at pre-school and primary school children. FREE Event. There will be 2 races – 10k and a Kids Fun Run (1 mile). The 10k event begins at 2pm at The Amphitheatre, Prince William Way, Carrickfergus. The Fun Run begins at 1pm at The Amphitheatre and also finishes there. The 10k finishes at The Castle.
Great prizes in the Male, Female and Youth categories. Every entrant will receive a goody bag and the run will be followed by hot food and refreshments for the kids at The Amphitheatre and bouncy castle, archery and face painting on The Castle Green. All 10k race finishers will receive hot food and refreshments in Carrickfergus Castle courtyard.
Competitors will need to pick up their packs before the race at The Amphitheatre between 11am and 1pm.
Anyone wishing to enter on the day must be at the The Amphitheatre from 11am to 12:45pm.
COST: Online Registration before 24th Aug – 10K Run (over 15 years): £13 Affiliated and £15 Non-Affiliated. On the day registration – £18.
